Civica Connect delivers cost effective IP solution to Frazer Nash Consultancy

Civica Connect has successfully implemented a bespoke IP telephony solution to one of the UK’s biggest providers of systems and engineering technology, Frazer Nash Consultancy.

Moving to IP has resulted in Frazer Nash Consultancy benefitting from a significant reduction in call costs. The solution provides staff with hotdesking functionality, which will deliver savings on office space and related overheads.

With a turnover reaching £20 million, Frazer Nash Consultancy required a seamless solution across all 7 of its sites which had to operate on and maximise the use of the company’s existing MPLS infrastructure.  Civica Connect implemented a Mitel platform at each site, as well as feature rich, low power consumption IP handsets, and operator console equipment to streamline the operator activity.  In addition, to help reduce travel costs and CO2 emissions, conference handsets were provided for use in meeting rooms and integrated cordless headsets were supplied to improve productivity and first call resolution.

Consultancy at the very beginning of the project was key to its success and QoS (Quality of Service) was incorporated into the design, ensuring better quality phone calls by guaranteeing bandwidth for voice.

With the current economic climate and budget constraints in mind, Civica Connect proposed a modular solution allowing implementation to be staggered across sites.  This flexible approach to implementation helped Frazer Nash Consultancy make the project achievable.

The new solution replaces a number of different systems that were in place previously within the organisation, some being at end of life.  Frazer Nash Consultancy recognised the benefit of moving to IP telephony and creating a unified communications system.
