City of York implements award winning Tranman Fleet Management Software
Recent implementation of Civica’s Tranman fleet management system provides City of York Council with a valuable monitoring tool to drive improved utilisation and greater efficiency for its diverse fleet of vehicles.
Following rapid implementation, the City of York began using Tranman in July 2009 and the authority expects that the new system will enable it to control workshop and staff costs more effectively. The Asset Information module will allow York to monitor and reduce down time across the whole fleet, maximising the utilisation of both vehicles and staff.
Civica’s market leading Tranman software provides award winning features for fleet, asset and service management and offers a range of unique capabilities across front office, back office and maintenance/repair operations. Each package is tailored to suit individual requirements with a number of modules to choose from.
With a diverse fleet of almost 300 vehicles, including amongst others; cars, vans, gulley suckers, refuse collection, recycling vehicles, hook/hoist vehicles, tippers and ride on mowers, Tranman provides York with a comprehensive monitoring and management system, which is increasingly important in the current environment of sustained financial and operational pressures.
Having experienced the benefits of the Tranman system through its previously outsourced fleet management service, City of York Council was keen to capitalise on the latest capabilities when it took on management of the fleet in-house. The authority is currently using the Asset Information, Store Management, Workshop Control and Driver Personnel modules.
Wayne Thompson, Workshop Manager for the City of York Council said, “With the knowledge that Tranman has been proven within the workshops previously, we expect to build on it’s capabilities to improve service delivery, efficiency and to reduce operating costs. The backup provided by Civica/Tranman has been very good”.
