Civica acquires Australian local government specialist Management & Executive Software

Latest acquisition strengthens capability and market position with business intelligence and performance management solutions

8 February 2010, Sydney... Civica Group Ltd, a market leader in specialist systems and outsourcing services that help organisations to improve service delivery and efficiency, has announced that Civica Pty Ltd, the company’s wholly owned subsidiary, has acquired Management and Executive Software Pty Ltd (“MES”).

MES, based in Melbourne, Australia, specialises in application software and related services for local government. It is the leading supplier of specialist business intelligence and performance management software, with a customer base that includes more than 80 local authorities. The acquisition gives Civica’s customers access to leading technology in financial analysis, reporting and budgeting, strategic business planning and performance management.

Civica and MES already have a successful track record of working together in the sector, for customers such as the City of Mitcham in South Australia, Dubbo City Council in New South Wales and the City of Nedlands in Western Australia. Following the acquisition the company supplies more than 300 local authorities in Australia, further consolidating Civica’s position as the market leader.
