Pre-Close Trading Update
‘Profitability in line with expectations’
Civica plc (”Civica” or “the company”), the software and services group focused on the public sector, today reports on trading for the six months ended 31 March 2005 ahead of interim results which will be announced on 15 June 2005.
The company is pleased to confirm that profitability and cash generation during the period have continued to be in line with the Group’s expectations and ahead of the comparable period for the previous year.
Highlights during the period include:
– Expansion of practitioner consulting with new engagements in the areas of efficiency, e-procurement, mobile technology and electronic document management for 15 local authorities including Bradford City Council, Sheffield City Council and Ryedale District Council
– The development of new shared service centre initiatives involving 22 councils for enhanced benefits processing and for implementation of the Licensing Act
– 14 local authority software wins including finance systems for Gravesham Borough and South Lanarkshire, community enforcement software for the cities of Dundee and Sheffield and library management for Australia's ninth largest city, Wollongong
– Major software supply contracts including 3-year agreements with the Central Buying Consortium - the UK’s largest local authority buying organisation - and the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency to supply UK schools
– Continued customer adoption of managed services, with 9 new contracts including Manchester City Council, the Metropolitan Boroughs of Barnsley and Rotherham and Central West Libraries in Australia
